Orangetown Historian to be Honored in Tappan

Christ Episcopal Church in Sparkill is pleased to present the Horatio N. Powers Award to Mary Cardenas, Director of the Orangetown Museum and Historian of the town of Orangetown, for he life's work in preserving our heritage, and in transforming Rockland County.   The Powers Award will be presented to Ms. Cardenas on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Old 76 House in Tappan, New York.  The event will start at 6 PM with a coctail hour, dinner at 7, and a raffle at 9.  Proceeds will go to the the Christ Church Building and Preservation Fund, established to provide money for sorely needed repairs to the 148 year old church building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  For further information, go to www.christchurch-sparkill.org/award.html.
